A Celebration of Faith, Generosity, and Love
“All Children of One Father” was the beautiful theme of this year’s Dinner Auction held by our community in Chesterfield, Missouri, on September 18. It was an evening filled with joy, generosity, and a shared commitment to bringing hope to those in need.
Preparations for this special event began in February and continued right up to the last moment. With the dedication and tireless efforts of our friends, board members, benefactors, and many generous volunteers, we organized a Dinner Auction to support 13 missionary projects and raise funds for the renovation of our convent.
The evening began at 6:00 p.m. with a happy hour, providing an opportunity for guests to gather, reconnect, and enjoy one another’s company. Approximately 190 people joined us, united by a common desire to support our missionary work and make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
Our Mother General, Sr. Selin Karikkattil, addressed the gathering with heartfelt words of encouragement and gratitude. She expressed her sincere appreciation to all who faithfully support our missions and generously contribute their time, talents, and resources to make this event possible year after year. Following her remarks, Fr. Timothy Foy blessed our dinner, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal together.
After dinner, the excitement began as our lively auctioneer, Mr. Adam Jokisch, took the stage. With great enthusiasm and remarkable talent, he led the bidding for our 13 missionary projects. At the same time, an online silent auction was taking place, allowing guests present in the hotel ballroom to participate and contribute even more to our mission.
The generosity of those gathered was truly overwhelming! We were blessed to receive sufficient donations to cover all 13 missionary projects. Even the funds needed for the renovation of our convent were generously provided. What an incredible testimony to the kindness, compassion, and generosity of our benefactors!
The evening concluded at approximately 9:00 p.m., leaving us with hearts full of joy and gratitude.
For me personally, this was a deeply moving and precious experience. Seeing so many people come together to care for the poor and less fortunate in mission lands reminded me of the goodness that exists in our world. It was especially touching to hear some of our guests reflect on the many blessings we often take for granted.
Some shared how easily we forget the privilege of having clean water to drink every day, food on our tables, and access to education. Meanwhile, in many parts of the world, countless families and children struggle daily to obtain these basic necessities. Their reflections reminded me that what we sometimes consider ordinary blessings can mean everything to someone living in poverty.
This evening was much more than a fundraising event. It was a beautiful expression of faith in action, a reminder that we are truly all children of one Father. Regardless of where we live, our language, or our circumstances, we belong to one human family. When we reach out to help those in need, we become instruments of God's love and bring hope to those who need it most.

Your dedication, kindness, and generosity have touched many lives and will continue to bear fruit in our missionary work.

As we look back on this memorable evening, may we always remember that even the smallest act of love can make a great difference in someone's life.
